Representatives from the Canadian Embassy in Thailand, Queen’s University, the Toronto Catholic District School Board, and Ontario’s public high school TVO ILC.
This forum was dedicated to offering international students in Thailand comprehensive insights into the application process and academic planning for North American universities. It featured official resources from the Canadian Ministry of Education, aiming to minimize information gaps.
Ms. Pan, a Trade Commissioner from the Canadian Embassy in Thailand, initiated the forum with a welcome speech. She provided an overview of Canadian educational resources and daily life in Canada. With an MBA from Saint Mary’s University and serving since 2015, Ms. Pan has been instrumental in promoting Canadian businesses and official resources in Thailand.

Ms. Mai, an official admissions officer from Queen’s University, presented a comprehensive analysis of applying to Queen’s University covering program overviews, popular majors, admission requirements for various international systems, OSSD grade requirements for admission, scholarship programs, and post-graduation employment and immigration opportunities in Canada.

Teacher Jody, a native Canadian with 13 years of experience teaching the Ontario high school curriculum in Chiang Mai, discussed the comprehensive capabilities developed through the OSSD system—not just as educational material but as a robust framework for nurturing student skills and interests.

Teacher Shi, an enrollment officer and Asian region head for the Toronto Catholic District School Board, shared insights on selecting the best high schools in Canada, advanced planning for high school and university applications, and other related topics.

As the sole remote public high school under the Ontario Ministry of Education, TVO ILC handles academic planning, course design, online teacher management, diploma issuance, and university application coaching. GrapeTree Edu Canada, as the affiliate of TVO ILC, detailed the advantages, international recognition, and pathways to achieving an Ontario Secondary School Diploma in Asia.
