On November 30, 2024, GrapeTree Education Canada led a group of 30 students to participate in a meaningful environmental volunteer program at the Forest Restoration Research Unit of Chiang Mai University (FORRU-CMU). As a leading research institution in Thailand dedicated to forest restoration, FORRU plays a crucial role in rehabilitating degraded ecosystems and raising public awareness about environmental conservation.

During the event, students worked alongside FORRU’s expert team to learn about the science behind tropical forest restoration. They actively participated in hands-on activities such as nursery management, tree planting, and soil improvement. These experiences provided them with a deeper understanding of ecosystem functions and the importance of sustainability.

Beyond gaining environmental knowledge, students also developed teamwork skills and a strong sense of social responsibility. Many expressed that this experience deepened their appreciation for natural resources and inspired them to engage in more environmental initiatives in the future.
